We Welcome to the Pulpit: Dr. John Powell. John and Judy came to Urbana in 1984 and joined this church a year later. John worked at the University of Illinois Counseling Center and Judy taught kindergarten and first grade in Urbana schools until 2007. John served this church as an interim associate minister several times during his years here. They currently reside in Abilene, Texas. Their two children, Ashley and Austin, still live in the Champaign-Urbana area.
