Of the four Gospels, women play the largest roles in Luke. As he begins his telling of the Good News, who are the first to believe the new thing God is doing in the Incarnation? Mary and Elizabeth. As Luke brings his Gospel to its conclusion, who is the first to believe and announce the Resurrection? Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, among others. How did the men respond to their announcement? “But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them.” Join us on Sunday as we celebrate the best day of the Christian year, in all of the best ways we know how, with awesome music, beautiful and fragrant flowers, and communion. Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!
