The days have definitely grown shorter. We are turning the corner from Autumn foliage and pumpkins and harvest to Thanksgiving and Advent. As November turns to December, Christmas lists, festive gatherings, travel plans and the costs of it all preoccupy our minds. When we gather for worship on Sunday, we will hear yet one more parable from Jesus, this one about a man who put servants in charge of his wealth. Having recently made our pledges in response to this year’s stewardship campaign, and already mindful of many financial matters as we head into the end of the year, this parable can be so easily misinterpreted. What if the parable is only indirectly about money? What if it is much more about the kind of discipleship God desires of us? Join us on Sunday for worship as we hear and reflect on all the passages of scripture, especially this complicated and rich parable.

Blessings, David
