Ascribe to the Lord the glory of his name; worship the Lord in holy splendor.
– Psalm 29:2
Corporate worship is the foundation of our faith community. On Sunday mornings we come together to worship God with praise and thanksgiving. At First Presbyterian we blend both traditional and contemporary elements in worship.
Join us from 9:30 – 10:30 am in the Sanctuary or from 11:30 – noon in the Chapel. Child care is always available but we never mind a little squirming or talking during the service.
On any given Sunday you may hear a magnificent Bach organ piece, a rousing spiritual sung by our choir, and both traditional and contemporary hymns. Each week we raise our joys and concerns to God in prayer, are inspired to deeper faith through the sermon, and offer up our gifts to God during the offering. On the first Sunday of each month we participate in the sacrament of holy communion.
Children are integral to our worship and always welcome. Our acolytes bring the Light of Christ into the sanctuary to begin our Sunday worship service. The children always brings a smile to our faces as they offer up their often profound understanding of God and what it means to do God’s work in the world during the children’s sermon.
The children’s choir and hand bell choir regularly make a joyful noise unto the Lord. And we rejoice in our older youth when they plan and lead the worship service. On the second Sunday of each month, our offering time is very noisy as the children collect coins in soup cans to support our food pantry.
